Modern foods, traditional crops
Hi, welcome to Climate Cookery! I’m Shreema Mehta.
I write recipes and musings that highlight the traditional, climate-smart crops overlooked by the industrial food system. My goals are to:
Confront the challenge of how we’ll eat in the face of climate change with new thought and and from a place of joy.
Convey the sensuousness of agrobiodiversity.
I hope you’ll join me!
More about me:
I’m a Brooklyn-based communications professional who’s been interested in food my entire adult life.
I’ve worked in environmental advocacy and climate tech for many years (and still do on a freelance basis), but carved a path for myself in transforming food systems a few years ago, when I started Climate Cookery as a food business (here’s a link to my product — a tamarind-based hot sauce).
My other main loves are dancing and New York City.
